Hicks Laundry Equipment
Corporation soon moved into more adequate facilities to keep up with the
growing demand from both coin laundry and on premise laundry customers. It
quickly grew into a full service business providing parts and equipment
and on site technical support.
About this same time, the
multi-family housing market began booming in the state of Florida. This
led to the development of a route operation that grew into one thousand or
more machines around Central Florida that they owned and
operatied.
In 1985, after 26 years, they
decided to sell their very sucessful business, and at least become
semi-retired. Their daughter, Marla, who also grew up in the business,
spending every summer break playing in the warehouse, under employees
desks, or occasionally being tempted into cleaning offices grew up herself
as the business kept growing. She soon went away to college, married, and
needed to join the work force also. She always remembered and admired us
for owning such a successful family business, and wished the same for
herself and her husband.
